The Pioneers Athletics Club is proud to celebrate a remarkable achievement by Dominican athlete Akiesha Luke, who captured first place in the Women’s 800 metres at the prestigious Inter-Ligues Championships held in Guadeloupe.  Akiesha ran 2:31.79

The Inter-Ligues Championships is an annual athletics event organized among the regions of the French Antilles and French Guiana, similar in stature to the Guyane- Martinique- Guadeloupe competitions in team sports. This year’s edition was particularly historic, as it marked the first time the championship has been hosted in Guadeloupe since its inception.

The competition attracted some of the region’s finest athletes, including several elite French competitors and members of the French National Athletics Team, making Akiesha’s victory an outstanding accomplishment on a highly competitive stage.

Representing Dominica with pride, Akiesha demonstrated exceptional determination, tactical racing, and athletic excellence to secure the top position in the women’s 800m event. Her victory is a testament to her hard work, commitment to training, and unwavering dedication to the sport.

Coach Dr. Cedric Harris praised the performance, noting that victories at competitions of this caliber showcase the growing strength of Dominican athletics and the quality of athletes being developed through the Pioneers Athletics Club.
