π₯ The Pioneers Athletics Club is proud to congratulate our athletes on their performances at the 2026 Association of National Olympic Committees of the OECS Championships held in St. Kitts & Nevis over the weekend.
Leading the way was Akiesha Luke, who delivered another outstanding performance by capturing the silver medal in the Women’s 800m. Akiesha crossed the finish line in 2:24.63, earning second place and adding another impressive achievement to her growing list of regional accomplishments. She also competed in the Women’s 400m, finishing in 1:01.23.
This silver medal is a testament to Akiesha’s dedication, hard work, and consistency. Everyone at Pioneers Athletics Club is incredibly proud of her continued success as she proudly represents both the club and Dominica on the regional stage.
Our young sprinter Keyoni Esprit also represented Dominica with determination in the Men’s 100m and 200m events. While he did not record a personal best or advance this time, competing against some of the region’s top senior athletes provided valuable experience that will contribute to his continued development.
Every competition is an opportunity to learn, improve, and grow, and we have no doubt that Keyoni will return even stronger in future championships.
Congratulations to Akiesha, Keyoni, Coach Joel Hamilton, and the entire Team Dominica delegation for proudly representing our nation.
